We've all been there: Balms that are too heavy, too thick, too light, or too shiny. Some taste gross, while others are simply overpowering. After trying numerous major brands and local favorites, I couldn't find satisfaction. The closest I came was a local brand that was rarely in stock and used way too many oils. Our formulas are mixed with specific ratios designed to actually permeate the epidermis. Your lips need moisture constantly because things like licking, drinking, or using petroleum products dry them out. In fact, licking your lips is a sign of moisture loss—a double-edged sword, since saliva is acidic and evaporates immediately. The Science of Softness As a non-glandular mucous membrane, your lips cannot generate their own moisture. They lack the oil-producing sebaceous glands found on the rest of your body, making them 3 to 10 times more susceptible to water loss than your face.
